Hello, can anybody comment on what type of salary to expect at Baltimore, MD NG for a level 4 supply chain engineering job? I am expecting to get 110k at least. Is negotiation even a possibility or is the idea not entertained? If yes, any tips will be greatly appreciated.
What is the culture in NG like? My manager will be based in a different city, is that common? What are the interviews like at NG?
Thanks in advance.
No it is not a positive sign. Just wait a few months and your status will likely change to "No longer under consideration". I've been involved with this process for ten years. You can improve your chances by marrying into management.
Nada.....Isn't that the truth!! Marry or sleep w/the manager, be a relative, etc....you get the picture. You can be in "Hiring Manager Review" or "Interview" status for months! Most management do not know how to use their Taleo Career Software so they just let the req's sit in the same position, so the status rarely changes.
I worked there for 15 yrs, a Mgr came in after the merge and yanked my budget for his gf and I was told I had two weeks to find something else inside the company. Two weeks is like a nanosecond at NGC...they are so unorganized. I know some people, but I can't get back in the door! It's so frustrating!!

I am interviewing soon for a financial analyst position, and I am curious as to what type of interview process NG is currently usually using. I think like most people I would prefer one on one as opposed to a panel interview. I was told the interview would last about an hour. How many rounds of interviews do you usually have to go through?

I applied online last week to 3 different positions as a field tech for a weapon system I used to work on when I was in the Navy (just separated Dec 2013). I feel like I was definitely a worthy candidate based on the qualifications they posted, and my job status online currently says "under consideration by recruiter". I've been reading a lot of these forums and it seems that for most people, it takes anywhere between 2 and 6 months, if not more, to move up in the application process. Most people also say it is near impossible to get a job with NG unless you know someone in the company that can deliver your resume straight to HR for you (I don't know anyone unfortunately).
This is all rather discouraging, and I was wondering if anyone here can shed any more light on the process for me. It would be awesome too if anyone that knows anything about this LCS MM Field Tech job (has applied to it before or even worked in that position) could give me any information or tips specific to that job.

Did you get your job? Sorry when I was there it was the West building. Airborne Systems.. If you got the job there by now you would know what I mean.

It has been almost 2 months now since I applied for a Native linguist2 position with NG. My application status still reads "under consideration by recruiter".I know for sure I'm the few candidates who are a perfect match for the position (Native speaker of the said language, Former Interpreter/Translator, IT pro, MS in Information Assurance/Security, BS in IT, Associate degree in Language Studies) but my application seems getting nowhere. Does anyone know someone who can help me point to the right direction in the Annapolis Junction, MD office? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Northrop Grumman Forum - Incompetent Recruiters - any similar experiences?: I was submitted for a contract job by a ...
I was submitted for a contract job by a recruiter in November, 2014. I have been in touch with this recruiter every week since the submission date. Then last week I got an "out of office" reply from this recruiter stating that she would be out of the office until today. Today she sends me a note informing me that she has no idea why, but the job to which I was submitted in November was now closed. Gee. What a coincidence. She disappears for a vacation and somehow we miss the opportunity for an interview and selection while she is away. I'm trying to figure out why no one else in this company picked up the slack and filled in for her while she was gone. Could it be that she was too worried about losing her commission?
What really bothers me about this is that this is the 3rd time in the past 2 years that this has happened to me (different contractors/recruiters though). And to make things even more frustrating, I was very suited for this role, and it called upon all of my skills and background. I was very excited about it and was really looking forward to the interview...studying and practicing answers to all sorts of interview questions. I have been out of work since September 2013...what the hell does one have to do to get a job in the world these days?

I have not heard anything back from them in about 2 weeks. Is there anything I could do for now to help my chances? Thanks
I'm currently looking to relocate to Melbourne Florida and work for Northrup Grumman. My fiancée has been living there for the past 4 months. I currently work for Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson AZ as a project manager and have experience in test integration and quality.
If anybody knows any recruiters it would be very helpful. Even an employee referral within the company who can possibly refer.
Thank you for your help and interest.

Leaving NG was the BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME!!!!
I suppose if you need a start, it's an OK place to get started. But if you stay you are a sucker :-) Sure, folks who were hired 10+ years ago are happy there - they got in under MUCH better benefit plans than NG offers now. I was there for 9+ years and I watched it all go downhill.
Within 6 months of leaving NG, my salary was 150% what it was at NG. Now it's almost double. I guess I'd recommend working at NG just so you can have the experience of leaving NG :-D Again, it's the best thing that ever happened to me!

Northrop Grumman Forum - Under consideration with NG: I have looked deeply into how to draw re...
I have looked deeply into how to draw reliable conclusions on the Taleo Oracle interface after using it, applying statistics, and verifying with HR personnel and boards such as this one. Overall, if withdraw disappears, you are out. While it slightly differs by company, overall wording and process is the same:
NO ACTIVITY (noone has looked at your profile): Active, accepting job submissions, view/edit submission, and withdraw will all appear. It may say something like "under consideration by recruiter".
RESUME HAS BEEN PARSED (this means sorted by software, but not rejected): Active, accepting job submissions, view/edit submission, and the withdraw button will no longer appear. Chances are if you are in this category you have been rejected, but the HR person has not completely discarded your profile, however they have not moved you into final review. You are a long reach for what they want.
UNDER FINAL REVIEW (top applicant): If you have an indicator such as "under consideration by hiring manager", or "view submission" with a withdraw option present, then you are under final review.
REJECTED (no longer under consideredation): If status is active, accepting job submissions and you have "view submission" with no withdraw option, and there is no indicator of an interview or hiring manager, you have been rejected. It may also say "no longer under consideration".
JOB HAS BEEN FILLED: If status is inactive, the job has been filled and you have been rejected.

Not sure if anyone is still checking these forums but I thought I would contribute my 2 cents worth.
December 28, 2016 I applied for a position with Northrop Grumman.
January 5, 2017 Received call from the unit boss. Conducted telephone interview. Nice informal interview. We talked about the position, what it entailed, etc. He said he would try to get a formal interview together the following week. Later he sent me his email contact information in case I had more questions. Status on NG Career website listed as "Under consideration by recruiter".
January 10, 2017 Received email from potential boss informing me he did not have time to get together a formal interview team. He said he recommended me to his boss and gave me a congrats. I would be contacted by HR with a job offer. I immediately sent him an email thanking him and informing him it was rather unexpected! Status on NG Career website changed from "Under consideration by recruiter" to "Under consideration by hiring manager".
January 16, 2017 Status on NG Career website changed from "Under consideration by hiring manager" to "Interview pending feedback".
January 23, 2017 I have not heard anything since. I began checking sites like this for inspiration into what could be taking so long so I thank all of the input everyone has given to this site. I emailed the HR person who had emailed me before about submitting my application. I asked her what the current status was. She informed me she was awaiting word from the "HR Business Partner" to approve the salary and then I would be contacted.
I guess I am just impatient. I realize a large company like NG would be slow but the suspense is killing me. Given my present situation with my current employer I am ready to move on. I was passed for a management position because I lacked supervisory experience. Which begs the question, how does one get supervisory experience if no one is willing to give me the chance?

Hi Turd,
Yes, I did my civic duty and offered a pint of urine for NG & Uncle Sam. Finger printing was later in the same week at a local constabulary.
The irony is I did not "go into" any office for this, heck I have never physically met anyone yet, having been interviewed by phone and submitted paperwork via email, online app and FedEx! Other than the waiting for my security clearance, my only gripe with this whole process is that I have not had a chance to meet anyone face-to-face. I have to settle for Facebook and LinkedIn stalking which sucks because I am gregarious king of guy.
